Along with economic development and the development of urbanization, cityconstruction projects both are hitherto unknown in investment or construction speed，especially the twenty-first Century. That is beneficial to the economic development andpeople’s living standards improve. But if we ignore the environmental problems in cityconstruction, it will cause harm to the environment of the city. Environment and developmentare the major concern in today’s society. The road of sustainable development is the goal. Cityconstruction projects as the only way which must be passed of city development, to realize thesustainable development of city and human must be insist the concept of sustainabledevelopment. Therefore, to improve the city construction project environmental impact,weshould pay attention to the environmental impact of city construction projects, and find thekey factors of city construction projects on the environment.Firstly, the thesis analyzed the research background and research significance, andanalyzed the research status of domestic and foreign from the environmental impactassessment of city construction project and the method of fuzzy matter-element evaluation. Atthe same time, discussed the train of thought and contents. Then, pointed out the meaningand characteristics of city construction project. Pointed out the three theory about theenvironmental impact of city construction projects: ecology theory, environmental economicstheory and the sustainable development theory. The paper analyzed the influencing factors ofcity construction projects on environment from natural environment, ecological environment,economic environment, social environment. And set up the index system of environmentalimpact assessment of city construction projects base on the influencing factors and evaluationprinciples. At the same time, introduced the principle, advantages and steps of the fuzzymatter-element evaluation method. The fuzzy matter-element comprehensive evaluationapplied to the environmental impact assessment of city construction projects. Put forward thestrategies about reducing environmental impact of the city construction projects according tothe evaluation results and the actual situation of the project.
