Polymeric dispersant is a surface-active polymer, whose molecular weight exceeds a certain value. Compared with the traditional small molecules dispersing agent, the new developed polymeric dispersant shows more significantly dispersing effect on the pigments particles and has greater improvement in the application performance of pigments. Carboxylate polymeric dispersant is one of them and it has good dispersion on titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate, barium sulfate and so on. Waterborne coatings meet the development of society, so it is a important direction of future development.The use of polymer dispersants in aqueous coating systems enable the application of water-based coatings with improved performance.A series of Malefic anhydride(MA)-Ethanol amine(EA)-Styrene(St) and Malefic anhydride(MA)-Ethanol amine(EA)-acrylic acid(AA) were synthesized with ethyl acetate as solvent,using benzoyl peroxide as initiator. The CoPolymers were analyzed by Fourier-Transform Infrared speetroseopy(FT-IR) and Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC).The influence of time of polymerization,temperature of polymerization, initiator mass percentage and Acylation of Malefic anhydride to Styrene on suspension percentage of TiO2particles on properties of dispersant polymer was discussed.The experimental results showed that the copolymer had an excellent dispersion efficiency when the molar ratio of acylation of Malefic anhydride and Styrene is1:1:0.8,reaction temperature75℃,2%of the mass fraction of initiator in total monomers, and reaction time5h. The molecular weight is3.36dL/g and the suspension percentage of TiO2is97.42%. when the molar ratio of acylation of Malefic anhydride and acrylic acid(AA) is1:1:1.4,reaction temperature70℃,3.5%of the mass fraction of initiator in total monomers, and reaction time4h. The molecular weight is4.12dL/g the suspension percentage of TiO2is97.81%.This research can provide a good way to apply massively plastically industrial lignin into the area of film filling material,blending and copolymerizing,it also unifies ecological,social and economic benefit and have a significant applying foreground and meaning for the sustainable development of economics and society.
