As a consequence of the increasing challenges from globalized world economy, the manufacturing enterprises which just rely on supplying the products have been unable to cope with the fierce market competition well. The manufacturing enterprises have to make the significant efforts to provide the integrated solution which includes the products and the services instead of the traditional products only. PSS (Product Service System) is a new paradigm that adapts the strategic transfer of manufacturing company. Configuration design is one key procedure of PSS development, of which the aim is to configure the overall solution for the customers. Taking the PSS of CNC machine tools as the configuration design object, this thesish mainly focuses on the following aspects.(1) Study on the customer requirement modeling and mapping for configuration design is carried out. The concept of requirement unit is introduced, the decomposition principle of customer demand is analyzed, and the customer demand model is established. Using QFD (Quality Function Deployment) to build the corresponding HOQ (House of Quality), the weights of product and service technology feature are determined. The rule base is built by using the rough set theory to analyze the association rules among massive data, which is used to solve the target values of product technical feature. Finally, the CNC machine tools of ETC series are used to verify the rationality of the customer requirement model.(2) Through summarizing the methods of module partition, the method which is based on design structure matrix is used to the service module partition. Using the digraph to describe the connection between the service activities, the service activities can be partitioned through computing the matrix. And the integration model of product and service is established by analyzing the integration strategies between product and service. Finally, this thesis expounds the connotations of PSS configuration model and establishes the PSS configuration model.(3) The methods of module configuration have been summarized. Firstly, to determine whether one scheme can be used as the alternative, it is needed to calculate the similarity threshold and solve the similarity of the schemes which are retrieved from the scheme library. And then, the product module configuration sequence can be confirmed based on the DFS (Depth-first search) algorithm. The modules can be retrieved based on the FPD (Fuzzy Priority Decision) algorithm. The product solution is obtained through the traversal of module instances according to the configuration sequence. The five elements (such as coding scheme) of GA (Genetic Algorithm) are determined, and the GA algorithm is used to confirm the service scheme. Finally, the PSS scheme can be obtained.(4) On the basis of the theory research above, the configuration design system oriented on CNC machine tools PSS is developed by MATLAB/GUI. The architecture and flow chart of the configuration design system have been described. After expounding the functions of the system, the running example of the system is also given. This paper establishes the customer requirement model to realize the mapping from the customer requirement to the configuration design information. And then, the PSS configuration model is built according to the module partition consequence. Based on the configuration model, the product service system scheme is determined. Finally, the configuration design system is developed based on the above theory, and applied successfully in the CNC machine tools PSS of ETC series, which provides the theoretical basis for the configuration design of the product service system for CNC machine tool.
