With the rapid development of manufacturing science and technology, the grindinghas become the most effective processing methods of precision and ultra-precisionmachining,and has been widely uesd in practical production. The abrasive distributionon the work surface of conventional grinding wheel is stochastic regime,only a little ofabrasive grain is really participated in grinding work,and the grinding wheel surfacecould not form weel space for holding chips so that the abrasive dust can easilydischarge and the flow of cooling fluid. This situation contributes to cause the grindingwheel working surface jam, high grinding temperature, as well as unfavorable use largegrinding depth, the processing efficiency of grinding has been limited. Therefore, howto improve the grindability of grinding wheel and grinding efficiency by the use of theordered arrangements of abrasive has become a key issue to the field of grindingtechnolog.Firstly, the theory of phyllotaxis in botany has been combined with the grindingtheory in this paper.and then present a new type of ordered distributing of abrasive,theinfluence of the phyllotactic parameters on the arrangement of grain have been analyzed,and the grinding wheel with phyllotactic pattern have been designed that based onappropriate phyllotactic parameters.Secondly,this paper has analyzed the relationship between the phyllotacticcoefficient of growth and the obvious one pair of parastichy,and discuss the grindingeffective rate of single grit with different grinding conditions,then the theory ofundeformed chip thickness of single grit has been corrected.According to the dynamicactive abrasives in the grinding process and the single abrasive grinding force, themathematical model of grinding force of grinding wheel with phyllotactic pattern hasbeen established.Then, this paper particularly introduce the process of manufacturing the grindingwheel with phyllotactic pattem,in which the key is to be prepared the phyllotacticpattern mask and appropriate method on the sand. The good phyllotactic pattern maskcould be fabricated by using lithography method and choosing better exposure time,atthe same time adopt the method of segmentation on the sand, and obtain a high sandpating ratio. Finally, this paper presented a simulation to the grinding force of the grindingwheel by DEFORM-3D. Based on the same grinding conditions of different growthcoefficient,the grinding force of the grinding wheel with phyllotactic pattern has beensimulated,and the simulation results show that the grinding force decreases with theincrease of growth coefficient. The grinding force of the grinding wheel withphyllotactic pattern、conventional grinding wheel and other grinding wheel withordered arrangements of abrasive(array configuration、dislocation configuration) hasbeen simulated, and the results show that the grinding force of phyllotactic patterngrinding wheel is less than the disordered,but little difference with other ordered.
