The traditional fixed abrasive grinding wheel and the vast majority of electroplated grinding wheel abrasive in the distribution of the surface of the grinding wheel is no rule configuration, and it unable to realize the abrasive man-made control, lead to the dynamic effective grinding grain which participate in grinding number decreases and the chip space on the grinding wheel surface is difficult to control, and it’s easy to blockage the grinding wheel working surface. Thus result in the grinding temperature and grinding force increasing, and the grinding performance of grinding wheel reduced. To resolve the above problems has mentioned, this paper puts the phyllotaxis theory of bionics in the nature and applies in the manufacturing process of the electroplated grinding wheel, and it realizes the abrasive grains ordering configuration in the surface of the grinding wheel, it will has important meaning to improve the using performance of grinding wheel.Firstly, this paper analyzed the different models of H.Vogel and Van Iterson, and studied on the phyllotaxis coefficient, the divergence angle, the abrasive grains radius impact on the grains configuration. Based on the influence of results, designed the end face phyllotactic arrangement and the cylindrical phyllotactic arrangement of grinding wheel with the optimal parameters. Analyzed the manufacturing process and operation rules of the end face grinding wheel with single abrasive phyllotactic pattern, and put forward a new method for manufacturing the cylindrical grinding wheel with abrasive group phllotactic pattern. Finally, produced the phyllotactic arrangement electroplated grinding wheel, and it meet the requirement of experimental processing.Then, the influence factors of the abrasive grains coequal height on the electroplated grinding wheel were analyzed. And the methods of how to improve the abrasive coequal highness on the grinding wheel surface were put forward, such as squeezing the grains on the grinding wheel surface, manufacturing methods based on micro-replication technology, abrasive grains screening and so on. Especially the principle of the abrasive grains screening, the process and the results of it were analyzed. And the grinding wheels were manufactured with the coequal height abrasive grains.Finally, the grinding experiments research of the end face grinding wheel with single abrasive grain phllotactic pattern and the cylindrical grinding wheel with group abrasive grains phllotactic pattern have been conducted. The relationship between abrasive wear on the different end face grinding wheel is obtained based on the measurement and analysis of the abrasive wear on the end face grinding wheel. The results show that the grinding wheel wear with the abrasive coequal highness phyllotactic pattern was less than the others.Under the condition of single factor, the influence of workpiece surface roughness, grinding temperature and grinding force using the end face grinding wheel was analyzed, and the workpiece surface roughness with the different phyllotaxis coefficient h, workpiece feeding speed vw, grinding depth ap of cylindrical grinding wheel has been analyzed, the results show that the grinding performance of electroplated grinding wheel with phyllotactic pattern is superior to electroplated grinding wheel with other arrangements.
