In recent years, the polyester filament industry is developing rapidly in china, polyesterindustrial workers have an increasingly demanding to healthy working environment.The problemsresulted from the diffusion and controls of indoor pollutants in the spinning workshop building aremainly discussed in this paper.Firstly, the source of air pollution are analyzed in chemical fiberplants. Secondly,the method of indoor air quality evaluation and indoor contaminant emanationforecast is introduced.Through field survey and questionnaire investigation, a comprehensiveevaluation is conducted for a Staple fiber workshop in Yizheng.It is concluded that the air qualityin the workshop of the chemical fiber is unacceptable,if people work in this air environment for along time, it is easy to produce a variety of adverse effects.In this paper, taking a chemical fiber workshop in Zhejiang as an example,the physical modelof chemical fiber workshop working environment is established.The temperature field andvelocity field of the workshop under normal operating condition are simulated by numericalsimulation.Through the analysis of the simulation results, the conclusion is obtained,thetemperature stratification of air supply area in different air conditioning is obvious, the area is noair conditioning in the workshop, where’s whirlpool is more. Then this paper simulated the airdistribution of the air outlet in the process side of the spinning plant where the air curtain is setted,the air flow organization, temperature distribution and pollutant concentration distribution in theworkshop were obtained. Through the analysis of the simulation results, the conclusion isdrawn,The air curtain in the chemical fiber workshop can effectively control the air pollutantdispersion in the workshop, the air quality in the workshop is improved.It also inhibits the air flowin both sides of the air curtain.The air curtain reduce the exchange of mass and energy and thediffusion of heat from the side of the spinning device to the middle part of the workshop isblocked.It can reduce the energy consumption of the air conditioning air supply in the central areaof the workshop.At last, the concrete measures of improving the air quality of the chemical fiberworkshop are put forward and analyzed.Without impact on the regular production andtransportation in workshop, a small specially designed anteroom is set for workers. Asmall stream of cooling air for electrical control cabinet is lead into this room to provide a full fresh air healthy environment. Then the air flow and temperaturedistribution of workshop are studied by numerical simulation method, and the airtemperature and velocity field of air supply side in the workshop air conditioningsystem are compared between with and without this anteroom. The results show thatthe anteroom will not adversely impact the production of continuous filament, while asmall amount of energy is consumed and a healthy and comfortable workingenvironment is provided for workers.The air curtain is setted in the process side of thespinning plant.The stress of air at the air curtain of chemical fiber workshop is analyzed and theair flow field at the air curtain of chemical fiber workshop is superimposed.Theformula for calculating the air curtain of chemical fiber workshop is derived.
