Wastewater treatment needs high energy consumption and its operation cost is large. Because of those reason most city sewage treatment plant in China are normally very difficult to put into use. This paper is to investigate the operation of a typical wastewater treatment plant in Jiangxi Province, and analysis of the energy consumption, then put forward a series of energy-saving measures. Finally this paper will give some discussions on new type sewage treatment plant in the future, new energy saving measures and how to establish some new type sewage treatment plants in Jiangxi Province.This thesis is mainly to get the following conclusions :( 1) The average tons of hydropower consumption value is 0.398 Kwh/t in the urban sewage treatment plant which we investigated. The biochemical treatment unit energy consumption accounted 57.16% of total energy consumption, the pretreatment unit occupies 26.55%, sludge disposal 16.29%.Power consumption in the monomer structure mainly in the sewage upgrading system、aeration oxidation ditch equipment and sludge dewatering machine and accounted 24.49%,51.72% and 14.37% of the total power consumption. Therefore, the focus of energy saving of this plant should be processing unit, oxidation ditch sewage lifting unit and sludge treatment unit.( 2) Power consumption of the sewage upgrading system accounted about 20% of total energy consumption. This paper considered add some ultrasonic liquid level meters in its water pumping station. We through monitoring the change of water level and flow meter to control those submersible pumps. This measure can let the lifting submersible pump power consumption become lower. We need conduct a holistic repair work for the installed thick grid machine and the installed fine grille machine.( 3) Power consumption of the biochemical treatment system accounted more than 50% of total energy consumption. We establish a network control system in the plant, personnel in the plant use keyboard and mouse in the control room to control the opening and stop of the aeration rotary brush equipment and sludge reflux pumps. Personnel can choose automatic control mode or manual control mode according to the actual need of the plant, and then realize the energy consumption of this part reduction target.( 4) Power consumption of the sludge treatment system accounted about 15% of total energy consumption. We can let the rectifying valve and the flushing pipe of the installed dewatering machine become better and strengthen the desliming room management at the same time. Finally, we can realize the energy consumption of this part reduction target.( 5) People in China will change the management mode of the existing sewage treatment plant, then build new concept "China’s sewage treatment plant", at the same time, we will discuss new energy saving measures like sewage and sludge resource reuse measures. Jiangxi area in the future must adapt to the development of the society,we will establish a new city sewage treatment plant in Jiangxi and then finally increase energy self-sufficiency rate and reduce the external energy dependence.
