The quality of cigarette filter sticks is.an important index for the quality of cigarettes. In view of huge profit of tobacco, we need control the quality of cigarettes strictly to prevent counterfeiting cigarettes and guarantee the quality of cigarettes. The existing machines, including the types of online pressure and offline test chamber, can’t meet production requirements. Therefore it is necessary to develop a new filter rod circle detection system.The laser measurement technology is developing rapidly in recent years, which provides a new solution for the filter rod circle detection system. It has successfully applied in the circle detection of precision shafts and cable production lines etc. But the systematic research is still lacked in the filter rod circle detection system.The methods of theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and experimental verification are used in the research on the detection of filter rod circle. The following aspects consisting of the filter rod circumferential dimension change accuracy, filter rod circle on-line detection methods, the construction of the online detection system, the plane four axis laser on-line measuring diameter instrument and the whole filter rod circumferential closed control system are studied. The key technologies contain the design of the sensor layout, the realization of data algorithm and the application of the system on KDF3.First of all, based on the forming principle of filter rods in KDF2 and the existing detection methods of the filter rod circular, the necessity of constructing online detection system of filter rod circumferential dimension is analyzed. And after the filter rod circumferential dimension accuracy is researched, the conclusions about the filter rod circumferential dimension can be obtained.Secondly, in the constraint conditions of the online detection of filter rod circumferential dimension, four kinds of online detection schemes of filter rod circumferential dimension are presented, and they are validated by theoretical analysis and verified by experiments. And the significant direction of the filter stick forming geometric deformation is obtained. Ultimately, the optimal scheme of four directions Laser High-Speed diameter measuring sensor is put forward. The design principle and key technology of the sensor are described.Finally, the online control system of filter rod circle is developed. Based on the control requirements of the online detection system of filter rod circle, the overall designs of the control and hardware system are proposed. Through the analysis of the algorithm of filter rod diameter and circumference, the control system is programmed. Also the installation and connection of the entire detection control system is realized.
