"The food is what matters to the people" since ancient times has been a very important topic, but the "food safety" growing concern today, "genetically modified food", "waste oil", "Sudan red", "Clenbuterol" and food problem has become more serious, It is not only seriously affect the health of consumers in the physiological, and also increased to varying degrees in the consumer psychology of fear.It is worth noting that, food packaging design is to protect and beautify the commodityinformation, convenient transportation, the role of the first impression to consumers as a foodis not good to help consumers identify themselves to buy items with harm. So, food packagingdesign stage to face such a problem:how to better meet the psychological demands ofconsumers, to provide consumers with psychological comfort, to keep pace with the times in order to adapt to the development trend of the present stage of food.Based on the analysis of the existing problems of food safety cases, combining elements ofconsumer psychology, on the basis of elements of packaging design to improve the design of food packaging. Food packaging design for the design to meet the psychological needs of consumers in order to reduce the purchase and consumption of the psychological fear.This paper is divided into seven chapters, first of all, the first part of the article on the "hunger breeds discontentment" origin, and its meaning in the food packaging design in the concrete embodiment of made corresponding overview, made a foundation for the following writing.Secondly, the second part of this paper is the two chapter to the four chapter respectivelysummarizes the food packaging design and consumer psychology element, and then combined with the excellent packaging case for lack of status and development of food packaging design.Thirdly, the fifth chapter as the third part of this paper is the focus of this paper, firstly, the food safety cases at this stage are analyzed, respectively, from the characteristics, problems of food hazards, identification methods, and then through the empirical analysis, the structure of food hazards, identification methods, and then through the empirical analysis, the structure of the food packaging design or packaging color made different improvement programs through self identification, so that consumers know food is harmful to consumers, reduce the psychological fear. Finally, the development trend of food packaging design impact on consumer psychology element for a better outlook.In this paper, through analyzing the present situation of packaging design of traditional food analysis and found the problem, and then combined with the elements of consumer psychology and popular food safety cases, the traditional food packaging is improved, and strive to add another function of food packaging, so that consumers and producers and designers can interact together.In a word, the packaging design is not simply the operator and designer’s intention, it should be the consumer can use independently, businesses and consumers is related to the interaction of the media.
