Plate and strip rolling products is the most widely used in national economy, the strip shape control technology is the key technology of quality assurance in the production of strip. In order to improve the demand of high quality products and high productivity in strip milling, the shape control technology is expected to ensure high precision and actual operability. Among the strip shape control technologies adopted currently, the hydraulic bulging roll technology has good flatness controllbilities to meet the requirements of the above-mentioned demands. The technology is applied in Japan and the United States, the technology however, is rarely applied in domestic, it almost is still in a blank in China. In recent years, some domestic scholars have done a lot of research, but only limited to the theoretical. Besides, there are a lot of actual production factors not taken into account in the process of research, the technology also is not very mature in domestic. There are still a lot of work needs to be done for the hydraulic bulging roller technology research.With the 4300 mm wide plate rolling mill of the Shouqin Steel Company as the background, it determines the VC roller structure parameters and change rules under different condition of wall thickness, the application of hydraulic bulging roller to wide strip on large size roll mill is analyzed, the result shows that application of this technology on large size roll mill produces better control effect.The finite element model is established by using the ABAQUS, the influence of structure parameters of hydraulic bulging roller is determined, and explored the strip shape control rules of VC roll under different rolling force. Thus, the roll principle and method of determining structural parameters are established, and the key technologies of hydraulic bulging roller are determined.According to its load characteristics, only the controlling shape could be come into effect within the scope of the critical controlling force. When the requirements of the rolling rolling force is less than the critical rolling force of hydraulic bulging roller, it can be obtained load roll gap with less than or equal to zero and corresponding products.In this paper, the research results can design and manufacturing of hydraulic bulging roller, and establish the strip shape control model, etc., to provide technical support, it is of important instruction for the technology of the hydraulic bulging roller.
