The leaves of Eucommia Ulmoides Oliv. have been studied a lot recently. It has been found that the leaves have almost the same effective components as the bark. Some components are even' more in the leaves than in the bark such as chlorogenic acid. Chlorogenic acid is one of the main effective components. It plays many important pharmacological roles especially anticarcinogenicity and antigenotoxicity. So it has economic signification that extraction and purification of chlorogenic acid from abundant leaves of Eucommia Ulmoides Oliv.In this paper, extraction and separation of chlorogenic acid from the leaves of Eucommia Ulmoides Oliv. were reviewed. Alcohol-extractive and then resin adsorption method was further studied. Through studying the effects of extractive solution, extractive time, ratio of solvent to material, extractive temperature and pH value of the solution on the yield of Chlorogenic acid, the optimum condition are determined. Resin adsorption method was used to enrich and isolation chlorogenic acid from the extraction solution. By comparing four different macroporous resins, NKA-9 was selected to separate chlorogenic acid. In order to find out the optimum conditions, the factors of effecting adsorption and elution were also researched, such as pH value, concentration, speed of adsorption, amount of resin, effluent speed, concentration and eluting agent.Assisted-ultrasonic extraction has been widely used in the effective components extraction of Chinese traditional medicine for its peculiarity. A kinetic equation, for assisted-ultrasonic extraction process was presented based on the revised Fick's first law of diffusion and ultrasonic enhancement of solid-liquid diffusion. Experiment data were studied to evaluate the kinetic equation. The experiment data curve can almost match with the kinetic equation completely. So it provides a theoretical reference for the assisted-ultrasonic extraction of Chinese traditionalmedicine.
