The rapier loom is one of the most widespread no-shuttle weaving machines. The automatization and network of the rapier loom become a commercial allure. This paper is about the research and design of a novel rapier loom control system, which is consisted of the following parts:1. Analyzed the current condition and the history of the textile machine both in China and abroad. Studied on the theory, the component and the control of the rapier loom, then brought up the more advanced project.2. Based on the DSP MPU, TMS320LF2407, an in-out control module was designed, including the collection, the management and the output of signals, which come from the rapier loom and buttons.3. The software and hardware were designed, which be used to transferred the system's data between the DSP and the MCU. In virtue of the MCU, the LCD control device, SED1335, was driven, and the alternation interface function of the system was realized.4. Through comparing between the two control networks, considering the characteristics of the textile factory and the DSP, a network module was designed, which is based on CAN bus.5. Every module and whole system were tested several times, and the relevantimprovements were provided. For the better anti-jamming of the system, many measures were considered while the hardware and the software were being designed. At last, the future of the system was proposed.The performance of the control system is predominant and inexpensive, which would be used widely.
