The control system of length-measurement polishing machine that used in rubber belt manufacturing is studied combining with the engineering practice. At the beginning, according to the requirements, the electrical control scheme is planned. And the types of control elements (that is Programmable Logic Controller, PLC) and actuating elements (including electromagnetic valve, raster ruler, etc) are selected, then PLC control programs are compiled and debugged totally with the mechanical structures. Visual C++6.0 is used to compile the special monitor software and database files in Personal Computer (PC). Through the communication between PC and PLC, the polishing machine can be controlled by PC. And the data produced in work process are stored in the database timely to facilitate the query, print, analysis and statistic. Finally, based on the development of computer network technology, the centralized control system of rubber belt manufacturing is discussed. The results of this paper help to improve the quality of domestic rubber belt and to promote the automation degree of belt fabricating equipments and the industrial development of rubber belt. In the mean time, the research in this paper is helpful to other control system studies of electromechanical devices.
