Staff training is the primary means to improve the professional quality of employees and the effective way to maintain the vitality of enterprises. But some business sectors are very special, there is the difficult, high cost, security risks and other factors in training staffs. In order to obtain safe, relatively low cost approach to training, after researchers'long-term exploration the, finally, operation of simulator-based training methods were gave birth in the second half of the twentieth century. At first, this training method is mainly used in military and aerospace and other high-tech fields, and then slowly infiltrated into the field of industrial and civil. Simulator-based training methods are quite significant to the high cost of on-site training and high risk industries. For the particularity of the oil drilling industry, the emergence of drilling simulator is a milestone of drilling training, it saves considerable human and material resources for drilling training. Oil drilling simulator is a virtual training device which applies a modern electronic technology and communication theory to simulate driller drilling operations in oil drilling. Top drive driller console simulator is part of drilling simulator. The drilling simulator projects the image of the trainer's operation to a big screen to simulate on-site operations, so the real-time of the system is to be highly required. In this article, a top drive driller operation console simulator is designed base on the research of top drive driller console, it can simulate most of the function of the console. In this thesis, a new communication is used to solve the problem of excessive data transfer delay between PLC and PC, and between PLC and PLC. In the WINDOWS environment, VC++is used to design the host computer's serial communication program and uses the RS232 serial port to send and receive data, the PLC works in the free port communication mode and uses interruption mode to transfer data through the 485 serial port, and realize data exchange between PC and PLC in the control system. Under the premise of ensuring the reliability of data transmission the communications protocol is fully simplified and achieve one point to multipoint communication between PC and PLC through their serial port. In this way, the rate of the data transmission is greatly accelerated and makes full use of the hardware resources of the PC and PLC.This method is a good reference for improving communication performance in many industry control system that use PLC as the controller.
