This article makes analysis of and compares the contour machining of the camshafts. It makes an introduction to the application of new technologies and materials both at home and abroad, and combining with domestic situation, a comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of several technological schemes. In conclusion, it points out that the application of machinery-hydraulic servo system to camshaft machining (especially rough machining and semi-finishing) is of obvious advantage, and that it would be spread extensively as soon as the experiment proves successful. This article aims to analyze and study the machinery-hydraulic servo system of a copying tool carriage to find out the reason leading to unreliability and to put forward an improvement plan as well as put it to actual application. At first, it establishes a mathematical model when the piston of a four side valve-control unsymmetry hydraulic cylinder is in a random position, and then, based on that, acquires the mathematical model of the entire machinery-hydraulic servo system of the copying tool carriage. And targeting on this model, it conducts theoretic analysis, computer simulation, and experiment accordingly, and draws a basically identical conclusion that the copying tool carriage cannot workreliably under the mentioned parameters, which conforms to the actual situation of production. In this respect, it puts forward a proposal to modify the structural parameter based on the mathematical model discussed above, and acquires the optimized structural parameter by conducting once again the theoretic analysis and computer simulation. This article is of certain guiding significance in terms of the research of machinery-hydraulic servo system and the improvement of the performance of existing copying carriages. It also points out the deficiencies occurred through the whole process of research.
