Wastewater released from the process of Dioscorea zingibrensis.C.H.Wright.has the characteristics of high acidity, high colority, high concentration of organic matter and contains considerable components difficult to be decomposed. For a long time, limitation of saponin production and serious pollution have occurred only because the wastewater can not satisfy the national discharge standard. So reasonable and feasible schemes for saponin wastewater treatment should be carried out as soon as possible.According to the characteristics of waste water, current treatment situation and existing problems, this study analysed the feasibility of wastewater processing by internal electrogravimetry-membrane biological treatment based on investigation and research. With the laboratory experiments and exploratory study, the processes mechanisms and advantages were investigated , meanwhile the process parameters and technologies were demonstrated which provided the scientific basis for the industrialized application.Reaction of Zn-Cu cell in internal electrogravimetry generates a electric field between zinc and considerable H~+ in wastewater. With the redox processes of electrode, concentration of electric field and coagulating sedimentation of hydroxyl, the acidity, colority and the concentration of organic pollutant are reduced while biochemical quality of waste water is enhanced. Biofilm test adopts Anaerobic Biofilter(AF) and biological contact oxidation process. With the high content of microorganism in the membrane bioreactor, organic pollutants and ammonia nitrogen in wastewater are degraded. The wastewater treatment process has the advantages of simple operation and stable running, also effluents after treatment satisfy the national discharge standard of saponin industry.This study provides reasonable technical scheme and a series of necessary operation parameters for industrialized application of wastewater processing by internal electrogravimetry-membrane biological treatment, also has solved the problem of wastewater treatment in the plants manufacturing Dioscorea zingibrensis.C.H.Wright. Further, It is of great significance to the sustainable development of economy protection for saponin industry and environment and also to the national biological, chemical and environmental protection industries. Finally it performs our ecological and environmental protection as a basic national policy to implement the strategy of sustainable development.
