With the development of embedded technology and programmable logic device, ARM development board and CPLD chip are more and more widespread used in the computer embroidery electric control system. In this dissertation, computer embroidery electrical control system was designed; ARM PC/104 embedded industry computer as the core control panel, the PC104 bus port extension board based on CPLD as the co-processing board, the overall control of machine embroidery is achieved, using Embedded Linux operating system, with peripheral interface circuit.Firstly, the principle and control targets of computer embroidery machine were analyzed; the overall framework for electronic control system was confirmed; the equipment for external control equipment was confirmed, according to embroidery machine external control equipment.Secondly, the drive circuits of color-changing motor, shear line motor, hook lines motor and deduction line electromagnet were designed, through analysis of control requirements for actions of color-changed and the shear line. In order to achieve precision for color change, the needle position detection circuit was designed.Thirdly, the disconnection detection circuit was designed to meet the requirements of disconnection protection and disconnected alarm, through analysis of the disconnect mechanism and causation. According to disconnect detection needs, the needle position decoding circuit was designed to provide break detection circuit with nine needle signals.Finally, to meet the requirements of the main control panel and the external interface circuit data communication, a preliminary design for the PC104 bus port extension boards by CPLD was made to achieve photoelectric encoder count and port extension on the CPLD chip. And the simulation verified that the port extension board logic is correct.In this thesis, a perfect control of the embroidery can be achieved by the computer embroidery electrical control system interface circuit; color-changed, shear-line, break-shear detection and other functions can be achieved to meet the expected control requirements.
