At present time, in many power plants, the method of transporting the pulverous coal ash using pneumatic conveying system is very popular and already has a widely application. However, many problems have also appeared during this application, in order to perfect the current pneumatic conveying system and the conveying techniques, based on an actual experiment using project, this paper will give an illustration about the general design course on the pneumatic conveying control system, the system control methods and its conveying techniques.Firstly, this paper gives a basic explanation on the pneumatic conveying technology, and also has an analysis on several factors that have an important effect on the pneumatic conveying system; Secondly, according to the appeared problems of the currently used pneumatic conveying system and the function demands of the experiment using pneumatic conveying system, this paper has an explanation on the system's general design course, stressfully expounds a scheme of two layer control mode, in this mode, a series of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and a computer are used to form a DCS (Distributed Control System); Then, connecting with the factors affecting the pneumatic conveying system, this paper gives a detailed explanation about the design course of the system's hardware and software when the system is working on the above-mentioned control mode.During the course of the pneumatic conveying system's field practice, in view of the compressed air's volume used in different conveying technique courses are widely different. In order to saving the compressed air and improve the conveying efficiency, as an example of this experiment system, by using the pulverous coal ash, several experiments on the conveying techniques are performed. Detailed speaking, this paper gives five different pneumatic conveying technique courses, and many times of experiment are made for every technique course. During every experiment, the computer collects the analogue dates and saves them on the computer. These collected dates are analyzed and disposed by using the software of MATLAB. In this way, the best pulverous coal ash pneumatic conveying technique course and a basic method of implementing adjustable control on the control system to make the pneumatic conveying system transport the pulverous coal ash and the air at a high mix rate persistently are concluded.
