With the fast development of industrial processing, all kinds of load increasingquickly, which causes the increasing of reactive power and decreasing of thetransmission efficiency and using rate of power, the reactive compensation of powerquality become more and more important. As one of the important device of the flexiblealternative current transmission system, advanced static Var generator (ASVG) becomesthe important trend of the development of static Var generator.Based on the current situation and trend of ASVG's development and study fromthe reactive compensation of low voltage power distribution system or of industry load,the paper analyze the operation mechanism of current directly controlled ASVG.Analysis on the characteristics of the current directly controlled ASVG. there ismathematical model of current directly controlled ASVG presented in the content.Moreover, the designs of ASVG main circuit parameters and controller hardware circuitwith DSP processing chip as the hardware core are displayed in the paper. With softwarewriting of the data collection procedure, testing the DSP procedure of reactive currentand harmoriic current algorithm, this procedure has already debugged successfully.
