Pioneers are attempting the innovation when the voice of introducing business management mode to our hospital management gets higher. But the field concerned is mostly about finance. A systematic research on human resource management especially performance management is still scarce.This article takes H hospital, a private hospital, for an example to attempt to apply modern performance management techniques used in human resource management for enter prises to hospital management in order to explore an advanced scientific reasonable effective hospital performance management system. With the proceeding of business practices, theories on performance management are developing. By far the target-oriented performance management method is widely accepted by enterprises. At the basis of some resource article, deep investigation and the theory of Balanced Scaled Card(BSC) and Key Performance Indicator(KPI),this article analysizes the performance management actuality of H Hospital and some other hospital. The possibility of improving the hospital performance management methods and necessity of adopting target-oriented performance methods are reached in this article. This article includes four parts. The foreword is the background. The second part is the target, possibility and necessity of H Hospital performance management system by the analysis of the history and management actuality of H Hospital. The third part is the emphasis, Hhospital performance management system. The performance management system presented in this paper concludes performance indicators designing, performance planning, performance implementing and managing, performance appraising and performance feedback. With a view of the recent target, this system follows a step-by-step analyzing sequence: establishing Key Performance Indicators according to the recent target, then ascertaining department indicators, finally deciding indicators for key positions. The last part is the problem and solution of applying performance management system.The article presents a view of hospital performance management by integrating successful business performance management with the characteristics of hospital, which has some practical significane and referential value to hospital management, especially designing performance appaisal indicators during performance management.
