Objective:To observe the effects of YI SHEN KANG, one prescription of traditional Chinese medicine, on blood glucose, microdosis albumin in urine, tumer necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in blood serum of rats with diabetes, so as to approach the mechanism of action of the prescription. Methods:The models are induced by streptozocin (STZ) in rats with 53mg/kg I.P. Then divided these rats into three groups by random: YI SHEN KANG group, ramipril group and model group, then adds thenormal group. The indexes of observation are blood glucose, microdosis albumin in urine, TNF-α, IL-6 in blood serum of rats.Results:1. Post-treatment, the levels of blood glucose and microdosis albumin in urine of YI SHEN KANG group are obviously lower than model group (p<0.01) ;and also obviously lower than ramipril group (p<0.05)2. Post-treatment, the levels of TNF-αand IL-6 in blood serum of YI SHEN KANG group are obviously lower than model group (p<0.01) ; and also obviously lower than ramipril group (p<0.05).3. Analysis of correlation show that the correlation is significant between TNF-αand IL-6 at the 0.01 level(r =0.882, p<0. 01).Conclusions:The mechanism of action of the prescription, YI SHEN KANG , to treatment earlier diabetic nephropathy are as follows:1. YI SHEN KANG can contrl the levels of blood glucose of diabetic nephropathy rats at some degree.2. YI SHEN KANG may lower the levels of microdosis albumin in urine of diabetic nephropathy rats.3. YI SHEN KANG may lower the levels of TNF-αand IL-6 in blood serum of diabetic nephropathy rats.
