The Chemical Composition Of The Aspartic Study

Asparagus cochinchinensis,which is a Chinese folk medicine,is the tuberous root of Asparagus cochinchinensis(Lour.)Merr.,and it is often used for treatments of fever,cough, hemoptysis,diabetes,constipation,swollen and throat pain.It is distributed in many provinces of China.It is reported that only a few substances such asβ-sitosterol,some amino acids,some monosaccharides,oligosaccharides,polysaccharides,and several furostanol saponins have been isolated until present time.This paper describes the isolation and structure elucidation of the constituents from Asparagus cochinchinensis.Air-dried root tubers of Asparagus cochinchinensis were extracted with 95%EtOH three times.By means of solvent extracted,chromatography on silica,seventeen compounds were isolated.The structures of the compounds were elucidated on the basis of chemical and spectral analysis(EI-MS,¹H-NMR,¹³C-NMR,mp.and TLC).Fourteen of them were elucidated as:5,7-dihydroxyl-6,8,4'-trimethoxyl-flavone(1),quercetin(2),5-hydroxymethyl-furaldehyde(3), ferulic acid(4),(+)-nyasol(5),(+)-4'-O-methyl-nyasol(6),3'-hydroxy-4'-methoxy-4-dehydroxynyasol(7), sarsasapogenin(8),diosgenin(9),gracillin(10),dioscin (11),β-sitosterol(12),β-daucosterol(13),stigrnasterol(14).Among them compound 1 and 10 were isolated from Asparagus genus for the first time,and compounds 2,4,6 and 14 were isolated from this plants for the first time.
