| Changshabei is a Southern Min dialect island in Renhua county, northern Guangdong. This paper describes in details the phonetic and lexical systems of Changshabei, compares it with Southern Min dialects and surrounding dialects, and investigates its language life. The final part is dedicated to a discussion on language contact and language change from the view of lexical diffusion. |
