Han Dynasty Onomatopoeia Contrast With The Translation

Onomatopoeic words, the most original and vigorous ones, use phonetic sounds to imitate the sounds of human beings, animals, natural things, and phenomena. They are based on natural sounds, while not simply imitate but finalize those with individual customs.There are lots of onomatopoeic words both in Chinese and Korean languages, especially the latter, which can be described as one of the languages containing the richest onomatopoeic words. Although some researches have been done in the field of both languages, few are on comparison and translation. The targets of this paper are to find out the commons in and the differences between Chinese and Korean onomatopoeic words, and then try to use those characteristics in specific works.The study on Chinese and Korean onomatopoeic words in this paper compares the structures of phonetic sounds and the grammar functions in the two languages, basing on the onomatopoeic words in ''Korean Onomatopoeic and Mimetic Words Classified Dictionary", edited by Yanbian Language Institute, and "Onomatopoeic Words Dictionary", by Gong Liangyu.
