| This paper analyses "YE" from different angles,explains the inner differences of "YE" from functional syntax,semantic feature and pragmatic function,and stress on subjective of "YE" as appraisive adverb.Through the compare and analysis between "YE" and other adverbs,the matter on "grammaticalisation" for "YE" was discussed thorough therefore a deeper realization of the modern Chinese adverb---"YE" was acquired.There are all together eight chapters,about 37000 characters in this paper.In chapter 1,indicate the significance and range of the paper research on,and explain the resource of language material.In chapter 2,the word character is redefined into two parts of speech of "YE1" and "YE2".Furthermore,the formality criteria,semantic criteria and pragmatic criteria for differentiating analogy adverb with appraisive adverb are separately discussed as well as their location in a sentence,etc.In chapter 3,describes the "YE1" from syntax,semantic and pragmatic ways in detail.According to its structure character,"YE" sentence is divided into five categories,while from the sight of analogy meaning it has three types,and from pragmatic it has two categories.Chapter 4 is the main part of the paper,an in-depth study and analysis are specifically given to "YE2".The basic function of "YE2" is acting as a high-level predicate while its pragmatic function is to show the speaker's subjective statement on the whole thesis through mood expression and mood meaning.Study and analysis indicate that "YE2" does not express mood which defined by the grammar academic circle.The mood of the sentence is sent by the whole thesis but not the adverb - "YE". If "YE2" helps to strengthen or weaken the mood,then the sentence would be considered as "euphemistic mood" or "emphasis mood".Besides,the speaker shows his or her attitude towards "strengthen" or "weaken" by saying "Ye" if the thesis sentence is to express an event or others and therefore influences the meaning of the whole sentence.The different functions of "YE2"are shown in a table to clearly explain its pragmatic meaning.In chapter 5,the paper gives an in-depth study on the subjective nature of"YE". "YE" is highly subjective.It has the Meta-pragmatic usage.In some certain contexts it plays the role of highlighting the fact."YE" shows great subjectivity when it goes with numeral-quantifier compounds,the complement of duration.Moreover,through the analysis it is found that "YE" which has high subjective nature usually appears in negative sentences.Chapter 6 compares "YE" with "DOU","BING" and "YOU",therefore a comprehensive understanding of its usage and meaning can be acquired.Chapter 7,"YE" is analyzed from the historical view from sides of its pronunciation and meaning.All in all,the analysis and study of "YE" described in this essay provides methodology to modem Chinese adverbs study as a reference.At the same time,it has a directive meaning to the Chinese function words education as well as deepening the subjective study of"YE". |
