Academic procrastination is a common phenomenon of behavior among the students. The researchers at home and abroad consider that academic procrastination could hinder finishing the study task on time, as well, it could influence the experience of undesirable mood to individual. So, we need to focus on this phenomenon. In China, there are few studies about academic procrastination, especially among senior high school students. So, in this article, the senior high school students are the main body of research. Through the survey, this article explored their situation of academic procrastination, and the deep relationship among time management disposition, academic delay of gratification and academic procrastination. This study had certain theoretical and realistic significance for improving academic procrastination among students.Three questionnaires used in this study were the academic procrastination scale, the time management disposition questionnaire, and the academic delay of gratification scale. There are 814 students participated in this survey.The author came to the follow conclusion:(1) On the whole, the level of academic procrastination among senior high school students was not high. Only a few students had higher level.(2)Academic procrastination was remarkably affected by gender. Male students'scores were significantly higher than female. There were the same conclusion in the three sub-scales (Preparing for tests; Preparing homework; Preparing papers).There were significant grade differences in the scores of academic procrastination scale and the preparing for tests scale; the score of the students of Grade One was significantly higher than other students'.(3)There was a significant gender difference in the sense of time control, and female students'scores were significantly higher than male. There were no gender differences in the sense of time value and the sense of time efficacy.(4) There was a significant gender difference in the academic delay of gratification, and female students'scores were significantly higher than male.(5) There was significantly negative correlation among time management disposition and its'factors(the sense of time value, the sense of time control, the sense of time efficacy), the total score of academic procrastination and its'scores of three sub-scales; There was significantly negative correlation among academic delay of gratification, academic procrastination and its' scores of three sub-scales; There was significantly positive correlation among time management disposition, its'three factors and academic delay of gratification.(6)The sense of time control, the sense of time efficacy and academic delay of gratification could predict academic procrastination obviously.(7) The sense of time control and the sense of time efficacy influenced on perceived academic procrastination, and academic delay of gratification had mediating effect among them in some way.
