The Development And Application Of Traditional Sports Games In Kindergarten

Traditional sports games is a significant part of the traditional games. It is originated from and is popular among the people. As wisdom of the people, it has multiple unique national features. Traditional sports games are deeply loved by children because of its diversity, various forms and easiness to get devices, etc. While playing traditional sports games, children can not only improve their health conditions, cheer up themselves and enhance their communicative ability, but also they can learn the traditional culture. In brief, traditional sports games is of great educational significance for children. However due to the constantly developing society, the excellent traditional culture is on the wane and traditional sports games are gradually being replaced by modern games. Therefore systematically carried-out traditional sports games in kindergartens can be of great importance for children’s physical and mental development as well as for the inheritance and development of the traditional culture.The method of combining case study and action research was adopted by this paper, at the same time, combined observation, interview method and text analysis, through investigating kindergarten teachers, analyzing and studying data and texts, this paper has surveyed the implementation of traditional sports games at the selected kindergarten. On the basis of the survey results, the method of action research was used to develop, with kindergarten teachers, different plans of traditional sports games suited for children at different ages. In the process of implementing the game plan, the development situation of children at different age classes and the teachers’ guiding methods are observed to find problems; in addition, in view of the problems and the successful experience, reflection and summary,and put forward to feasible suggestions for the traditional sports games in kindergarten in the future. The suggestions are as follows: First,extensively collect information on traditional sports games, reasonably choose and reform traditional sports games suited for children. Second,scientifically and systematically arrange the time, content and form of traditional sports games. Third,search for resources needed by carrying out traditional sports games through multiple ways. Fourth,emphasize regional differences and individual children, optimize the composition system and process of traditional sports games.Fifth,conduct adequate preparation for the games and ensure children’s safety.Sixth,children at different age classes are suitable for different types of traditional sports games.The end,teachers’ guiding methods are different in traditional sports games at different age classes.
