New Geography Curriculum Embodiment Of The Concept Of Strategy

Nowadays, evaluation system has become the key point of theeducational reform. As an important opponent of the basic educationalsystem, Geography plays an important part. The reform of the newevaluation system in geography, which has a powerful effect on the wholeeducational reform, has pushed the subject itself forward and meanwhile,has arisen some thorny problems that should be solved soon. The new educational reform keeps an eye on the students' all-sideddevelopment and life-long development. In geography, the old method inevaluation, which paid too much attention to separating and selectingstudents and ignored the students' development, should be changed. How toevaluate students in geography using the new idea has become the maintopic in the professional field. Based on some researches and practice, the paper deals with the newevaluation system in geography and the strategy in presentation. The bodyincludes four parts: First, introduce the new evaluation system in the whole educationalreform and especially, in the subject – geography. The characteristics of theevaluation system are analyzed. Second, through the analysis to the specific researches, which havebeen done by the Department of Education, some problems and confusionsabout geography teaching are concluded. Third, with the teaching practice in geography, some strategies are put iitogether to show how to carry out the new evaluation methods. Fourth, some effective methods of evaluation in geography areprovided. The paper deals with the new idea of evaluation in geography, thestrategies in presentation and the effective evaluation methods, in order toput the advanced educational theory into teaching practice and to benefitthe all-sided development of the students. I hope it can be a little help to allthe geography teachers.
