Current geography education deviated from middle school students' life world,which prevented them from developing, healthy and all-sided. So, it is urgentto exert integration, terrain and life practice of geography, reform traditionalgeography education, and overcome obstacles of geography education facing middleschool students' life. The thesis includes six parts. I clarify basic connotation and significanceof geography education facing middle school students' life in the first and thesecond parts. Thirdly, I discuss its theory basis. Fourthly, referring to theinstances of China Hong Kong and foreign countries, I consider the currentgeography education in China. Fifthly, I discuss how geography education facinglife world in middle school. At last, I discuss education evaluation of geographyeducation facing life world of middle school students, and quest for its mode. The main content of the thesis: The basic connotation of geography educationfacing life world is that it's connected with life world under the basic thatgeography still has content system. Geography education facing life world canmake students' learning life become flesh and blood, have living meaning andlife value. John Dewey's practicality and experience theory and Xingzhi Tao'sliving education theory are the basic theories of geography education facingmiddle school students' life. Under the direction of those theories, referring to geography education inAmerica, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong, I study and analyze the currentgeography education in China with the method of questionnaire investigation. Itindicates that geography courses, teaching material and teaching in the classroomare deviated from middle school students' life world. Education concepts andteaching evaluation prevent geography teachers carrying out the idea.According to these problems, I lay stress on dissertating how geographyeducation faces life. Geography teachers and all the members of society shouldchange their ideas. Life materials must be the main line in geography coursesand teaching materials. And I expatiate on how teachers who carry on this ideamake geography teaching face students' life through teaching cases. Middleschool geography class should establish teaching aim, strategy, and selectlearning method, teaching method, and contents of facing life, such as developing,opening teaching strategy;scene teaching method, discussing teaching method;cooperative learning method, researching learning method, independence learningmethod.Geography education evaluation reform is another key to success of makinggeography education face middle school students' life world. So, changing singleevaluation form and enhancing evaluation content can make a better evaluationmode of Geography education facing life world. For example: reforming outcomeevaluation like entering examination, strengthening course evaluation likeportfolio, and constituting student evaluating system of facing life.I narrate the importance of geography education facing life in middle schooland its blocking factors, bring forward thoughts and measures of making geographyeducation face life, make others in society understand and support it. Reformingevaluation of geography education is the guarantee factor to make the educationcourse focus on the living of middle school students and make them grow up, healthyand all-sided.
