This paper focused on some dynamics problems about the mechanical forging presses. Researches have been made on the actuators, the pneumatic clutch, the ejection device of the press by theoretical analysis, numerical simulations and experimental observation.Which provide theoretical support for the design, failure analysis, and maintenance of the press.(1) The mathematical model of multi-linkage mechanism for cold forging press has been setup and the optimal structure parameters of the multi-linkage mechanism has been obtained by the optimization. According to established mathematical model, the kinematics and static mechanics of the multi-linkage mechanism has been analyzed and the motion characteristics and the force state of the mechanism has been acquired which offered the foundation for the structure design of the press.(2) The key unit of the mechanical press-the clutch system has been studied.The mathematical model of the clutch has been established.By analysis of the modal, the possibility of soft touch of the clutch has been suggested.(3) By theoretical analysis about the ejection device of the press, the method of increasing mass load to decrease ejection speed has been proposed.
