Tandem cold mill is a highly efficient and highly qualitative production technology.Because of the large amounts equipments and complex control procedure, rolling with tension isa very important part during cold-strip production. The precision of tension affects the rollingstability and the quality of finished strip. Therefore the study of strip tension control takes onrealistic significance. As for this, based on 1250mm five-stand tandem cold mill in Fujian CaseySteel Co., Ltd,.the entire mill tension control system is studied in this paper.Firstly, this paper begins with five-stand tandem cold mill, study the tension control systemof uncoiler and looper. After analyzing the dynamic compensation, diameter computation ofuncoiler and tension control principle of looper, put forward the realization scheme of constanttension in the system of 1250mm five-stand tandem cold mill.Secondly, aiming at the five stands cold rolling mill, the tension system of stands isanalyzed importantly . The tension model is set up, and using indirect tension method and directtension method, and the corresponding controllers are designed, the calculating process ofcorresponding parameters is presented. Then simulating research and analysis are preceded.Finally, a detailed introduction about the hardware and software configuration of the1250mm five-stand tandem cold mill automatic control system, and the function of programmingISaGRAF software.
