Thickness accuracy is the most basic and the most important indicators in all the dimensional accuracy for plate strip.Therefore,automatic gauge control is indispensable key component in rolling process automation.People,in a very long period of time,have been improving the AGC system equipment and control method continuously,which have achieved great results in AGC system.With the continuous development of the scientific and technology,the production and the quality of the plate and strip rolling mill is increasingly becoming the primary objective of the pursuit.So it is is essential to study in-depth in mill thickness control.This paper takes on 2300 hot rolling mill automatic gauge control systems as a background,on the basis of fully understanding the basic control principles of AGC,for the digestion and absorption depth.This article study on the main difference of work style of ABS-GM-AGC (Gaugemeter AGC) and LKON-GM-AGC——the different sources of target thickness.And then,this pater take ABS-GM-AGC as an example for detailed study,including the thickness calculation of the mathematical model used and deducing to prove the bouncing volume used in the model.In the prooving process,it studyed on the process of mill modules measuring,the strip width of the impact of the mill modules and study on the basic principles of compensation and part of the control altorithms which are in the thickness calculation mathematical module.It also analyses the working principle of the integral monitor AGC and Smith's method monitor AGC,and system parameters used in the physical meaning combinating of the block diagram. And also,it studied on load distribution control and the principle of compensation of strip head-end and tail-end.In ABS-GM-AGC system,it can completely eliminate the thickness deviation of export which is caused by the entreance of thickness deviation.In LKON-GM-AGC system, thickness deviation of export which is caused by the same entreance of thickness deviation, will cut down with the lock-on bouncing gain value KLK increasing.When there is disturbance from finishing mill,ABS-GM-AGC and LKON-GM-AGC will make the wrong moves.In this AGC system,the improved simth's method monitor AGC system can obviously reduce system concussion which is caused by inaccurate forecast model that is caused by the change of strip speed to enhance the stability of the system.
