Nanjing Foreign Language School Anime Club And Folk Clubs Comparative Study

With increased emphasis upon the concept of "education based on student development", in Chinese curriculum reforms nowadays, the art club in high schools is evidencing a new era. Art clubs are increasingly becoming an important part of high school students' life in the 21st century.In order to facilitate the art development of students, this research aims at exploring and understanding art club life nowadays in high schools in China from an educational perspective. I take Folklore Club and The Club of Animation and Comic in Nanjing Foreign Language School as examples, to analysis the effect of art clubs on student's study of art. Research procedures for the study mainly focus on daily observation, in-depth interview, and literature review. Analyzed data on the two clubs shows that the majority of students had a greater interest in animation and comic. Meanwhile, many students are indifferent toward folklore. As to find out the cause of the misunderstanding to folklore, activities of the two clubs were observed to discover how the two clubs worked. Compared with the Folklore Club, the activities of the Club of Animation and Comic are more interesting, with better propagandized in school. The rapid development of China' economic changed the lifestyle of general Chinese people, the different surroundings do make it's hard to folklore to develop and passed on to the new generation.Moreover, various problems within the day-to-day practice of club life remain apparent. Student's ability of making use of art has been unbalanced developed among different clubs and individual clubs. Contradiction between the activity arrangement and the self-development of students appears a primary difficulty. Thus, many problems require solution.Successful development of student art club derives from not only the student clubs themselves but also the school teacher. Therefore, some effective strategies are mentioned for resolving existing problems.
