With the work of geological resource exploration, geological disaster prevention,ocean strategy vigorously carried out, national geophysical research graduallydeepening. The country vigorously carry out the implementation of the national deepdetection technology and experimental special research, universities and researchinstitutes collaboration, jointly undertake the development and implementation of theproject. As a developer of geological data visualization development and graphicsrendering and visualization platform building for large-scale geological data, fullyunderstand the needs, comparing the level of development at home and abroad, afterwe conducted the investigation and study proof, we decided to develop a set ofgeological applications visualization platform to the special projects. By computertools, scientific computing visualization change large amounts of data into a computerimage which human vision can be directly felt, because of the abstract and complex ofthe geology data, after we change the geology data into visual graphics, geologyexperts can easily analyze on research.In this paper, the work undertaken in the project is conducted in-depth researchand analysis, and we extensively studied two-dimensional Mesh grid visualization, thetwo-dimensional Mesh grid is a simple structure grid, it can display various geologicaldata very intuitively, the contour line is the most commonly used form of expression inthe grid display data, this article develop a feasible solution, gives the contour drawingof the grid comprehensive solution. Three-dimensional Mesh grid isosurfacevisualization also conducted preliminary discussions, due to the complexity of thethree-dimensional mesh grid, this article summarized the various possible scenarios,and put forward a feasible visualization scheme.This article discusses the needs of the faults in the project, and applied to thecorner-point grid model, corner-point grid is a structured grid, each grid cell has itsown separate eight vertex in this kind of grid, the benefits of such a grid is to be able tolearn a good description of the faults. this article has a detailed introduction andextensive discussion on the corner-point grid, and has a research on the obtaining method of faults in the corner-point grid, and has a description on the visualization ofthe fault plane. For large-scale geological data loading, we have to take into accountthe speed and quality, so we use Cartesian grid. Cartesian grid is a very basic type ofgrid, this grid has a very fast rendering speed, but rendering is not good, especiallythe faults can not perform very good. We combine the Cartesian grid and corner-pointgrid, build a mixed grid model, we use corner-point grid near the faults, use theCartesian grid in the area away from the faults. This is a non-structural model,because they are all six hexahedral grid, has little difference in the topology and easyto combine. This kind of grid has no difference in expression of fault compare withusing the corner-point grid, but using a simple structure in a non-fault region grid willgreatly reduce the computing and storage, to improve the drawing speed. The last,the article also have a research on PEBI grid, PEBI grid is used as a reservoirsimulation grid, for drawing of PEBI grid, I give the way of generating Voronoi diagramand triangular grid and finally a cropped.
