In order to satisfy the manufacturing requirement for the hinged holes of the hydraulic support and to increase its processing quality and efficiency, the design and research for the gantry four-axle boring machine used for the hinged holes of the hydraulic support are fulfilled by the advanced design theory and method. The thesis approach includes the following contents.In the Chapter1, the research background, the main research content and the related technique course are given. In the Chapter2, the process scheme for the manufacturing of the hydraulic support hinged holes is studied. The stability and the related cutting calculation for the gantry four-axle boring machine are discussed. The gantry four-axle boring machine is designed in the whole. The common parts and the different configuration methods are selected. In the Chapter3, the three-dimensional solid model of the gantry four-axle boring machine is established in SolidWork.The structure and the function of the key parts are analyzed in ANSYS. In the Chapter4and the Chapter5, some key parts of the gantry four-axle boring machine are calculated theoretically. The finite element analyses for the leg and the power sliding table are performed and the static and dynamic features are obtained. The design rationality is verified. In the Chapter6, the actual operation situation of the four-axle boring machine is tested and the experimental data are achieved and analyzed. In the Chapter7, the conclusion and the prospect is showed.Through the static and dynamic analyses for the leg and power sliding table of the gantry four-axle boring machine,(he structural stress, displacement fields, the natural frequency and vibrate model are obtained. The rationality for the machine structural design is also evaluated. The actual processing experiment data shows that the designed gantry four-axle boring machine is able to satisfy the manufacturing needs. The thesis research can provide an effective method for the design improvement of the related boring machine.
