The hypercrosslinked adsoption resins have high specific surface areas, high mechanical intensity, excellent adsorption performance and exbit a swelling behavior in both good solvents and poor solvents. The hypercrosslinked adsoption resins have been widely used in environmental protection, pharmacy and analysis and testing technology fields. With the continuous studying on hypercrosslinked adsoption resin, the different matrices have attracted increasing attention. A sort of non-polystyrene hypercrosslinked resin was synthesized via a continuous Friedel-Crafts alkylation polymerization of benzene, diphenyl and their dichloromethyl derivatives. Based on the previous work in the lab, a series of polar adsorptive resins containing amine, methoxy and acetoxy group were introduced by the transformation of chloromethyl group. And the adsorption property of amino resin for resorcin was investigated.The BE-XDC resin was synthesized by benzene and1,4-Bis (chlormethyl) benzene. The aminated hypercrosslinked resin was prepared on the basis of BE-XDC resin with diethylenetriamine. The infrared (IR) spectra showed that the characteristic peaks of C-N appeared at1307cm-1and1348cm-1, indicating that diethylenetriamine have been introduced to non-polystyrene hypercrosslinked resin successfully. The exchange capacity of diethylenetriamine resin was6.71mmol/g. The BET showed that the specific surface was up to359m2/g. And the novel hypercrosslinked resin possessed large pore volumes and narrow pore size distributions which were mainly in mesopores.The methoxy hypercrosslinked resin was prepared on the basis of BE-XDC resin with sodium methoxide. The acetoxy hypercrosslinked resin was prepared on the basis of benzyl alcohol BE-XDC resin with acetic anhydride in the presence of p-toluenesulfonic acid and methyl acetate. The infrared (IR) of methoxy resin spectra showed that the characteristic peaks of C-O-C appeared at1096cm-1, indicating that methoxy has been introduced to the matrix successfully. And the infrared (IR) of acetoxy resin spectra showed that C=O at1746cm-1and C-O-C at1256cm-1, indicating that acetoxy has been introduced to the matrix successfully. The content of methoxy and acetoxy group were up to4.44mmol/g,1.98mmol/g. The specific surface of methoxy resin is538m2/g, and acetoxy resin is502m2/g, respectively. And the results showed that the novel hypercrosslinked resins possessed large pore volumes and narrow pore size distributions which were mainly in mesopores.The experimental results showed that the amine resin had excellent adsorption capability for resorcin. The novel amine resins possessed large sorption capacity for resorcin(206.9mg/g), but XAD-4was142.1mg/g. The amine resin and XAD-4resin adsorption isotherms could be correlated to Freundlich and Langmuir isotherm. These showed that the amino resin removed for resorcin form physical adsorption and chemical adsorption.The enthalpy change and Gibbs free energy change of amino resin were negative. These showed that amino resin adsorption was exothermic process and spontaneous process. Kinetic datas showed that the adsorption rate of amino resins was rapider than XAD-4resin.Modifications of non-polystyrene hypercrosslinked resin, which increase the type of non-polystyrene hypercrosslinked resin, expand the application fields of resin. The non-polystyrene hypercrosslinked resin is expected to be used in resource disposal of industral wastewater, separating and purifying of Chinese herbs and drugs, and so on.
