Several different kinds of frames of screw press are analyzed and studied. Theresearch starts with establishment of the finite element models and discussion onpre-tighten methods for assembling the bodies of presses and boundary conditionsof frames. According to movement types of spindle,several typical frames areresearched based on the finite element method about the structure features、mechanical property、 processing technic and so on. Then advantages anddisadvantages of frames are summarized by comparing and evaluating. According tothe results of analysis and evaluation,a new frame named J55-4000A which isidentical with J55-4000about working performance is designed on a better designproposal.The structure design of crown:Lubricant cavity is reasonable designed bymeans of calculating the minimum volume of lubricant demand,then the lubricantvolume is reduced and utilization ratio is raised. Stress concentration of the walls oftie rod mouth and lubricant cavity is reduced by analysis of stress flow and optimaldesign by FEM. The casting walls of tie rod mouth and lubricant cavity is designedin order to avoid hot spot in casting.The structure design of bed beam: SPKA11200and PZS710are respectivelytransformed into J55-4000type bed beams by reference to their structure features.Then the two beds are compared and compared again after improvement. A betterbed of weight reduction,convenient casting and machining,and the advantage ofstructure utilization is acquired,when it is similar with J55-4000bed about thestresses on key points.The results of J55-4000A contact analysis of crown and upright,deformationanalysis of upright,and analysis of frame and tie rod,are similar with J55-4000. Itis stated that the contact between crown and upright is fine,deformation of uprighthas limited on ram guide precision,and the stress of tie rod is in safe range.Modal analysis of J55-4000A frame is performed in order to know dynamic andvibration features. The frequency of the minimum first order mode shape is muchlarger than the frequencies of ram working and of flywheel,so the resonance won’t take place. What is more,it is larger than the frequency of20Hz,so the designrequirement of decreasing noise pollution of infrasonic wave is satisfied.
