At the present time, forgings of long rod or hollow are mostlymanufactured by horizontal mechanical press. However, it is not suitable forshort running of a wide variety of forgings, in the consideration of the economyof the production. 4 MN horizontal hydraulic upsetting press is a new kind ofspecial die forging press for production of this type of forgings. The frame, asthe fundamental support for the component of 4 MN horizontal hydraulicupsetting press, is foundation of installation and fixation for other parts. In theworking process, it endures the nominal load, and its intensity and rigidity willdirectly affect the safety of hydraulic press and product quality, therefore, it isvery important to research the stress and displacement distribution of the frameunder preloaded and static load for assurance intensity and rigidity of the frame.The histories and the current status of the structural analysis and design ofthe frame are introduced in detail, and the problem and shortage are pointed out.The characteristics of structure and preloaded of the frame are analyzed. In thisdissertation, finite element analysis software ansys is used, pretension of theframe is simulated by way of pretension element.The 3D-FEM parameterized model of the frame is established by applyingtetrahedron solid element and method of solid model building, and contactinganalysis is calculated. The stress and displacement distribution law of the frameunder static load are disclosured, the position of dangerous point are given andcharacter of static are obtained.The Lanczos method is used in modal analysis of the preloaded frame. Thedynamic parameters of the frame such as previous ten natural frequencies andcorresponding modes are obtained and the influences of every step mode toservice behavior are analyzed.Residual preloaded and optimization of discrete varialble are techniquehandled, in this dissertation, on the based of the finite element and Sub-problemoptimized algorithm, the parameter language apdl and optimizing technologyare applied, optimized programs of lower cross-head and front cross-head of theframe are respectively programmed, the best structure design parameter areobtained.
