Nowadays, the reports of the wheat alcohol wastewater treatment are few, and thesuitable processes for wastewater treatment with high concentration of organic was thecombined process of anaerobic-aerobic. The combination process of UASB-SBR has manyadvantages, which has been successfully used in many actual engineering. In the paper, theUp-flow Anaerobic Sludge Bed Reactor(UASB), which has the3liters’ effective volume,was used to inoculated anaerobic granular sludge, consequently to realized the rapidstart-up of the reactor at the medium temperature(37±2℃),so as to deal with the higherload of wheat alcohol wastewater. The influent of the aerobic reactor was the effluent ofthe UASB reactor under steady run.And the SBR reactor which has the3liters’ effectivevolume was used for the processing. The wheat alcohol wastewater was treated byUASB-SBR process in this paper and the result proves that:(1)Keep the volume of the influent, gradually added the influent COD concentrationto improve the volume loading.The impact on the reactor will not be too large when theinfluent COD concentration were changing between1000mg/L and13000mg/L.(2)Before the volume loading reached11kgCOD/m~3·d~12kgCOD/m~3·d at the loadascending stage. The COD removal rate was kept up to85%,the anaerobic effluent CODconcentration drops to less than1500mg/L.The VFA of the effluent kept below3mmol/Land the pH of the effluent were between7.4and7.8.The gas production of the reactor wassteady improved.In the stable running stage of the UASB reactor,when the volumeloading was kept at12kgCOD/m~3·d~13kgCOD/m~3·d,the COD removal rate was kept at85%.the effluent COD concentration of the UASB reactor were kept below1650mg/L, theVFA of the effluent kept below3.5mmol/L and the pH of the effluent were between7.4and7.7. The gas production of the reactor was maintained at17L/d and the gas productionrate was about0.5m~3/kg(3)With the anaerobic treatment of the wheat alcohol wastewater, the experimentalresults showed that,when the volume loading of the SBR reactor reached a maximum of1.6kgCOD/m~3·d,and the influent COD concentration reached1600mg/L,the COD removalrate was kept up to80%. The experiment shows that the following treatment process of theSBR reactor could effectively deal with the effluent of the UASB reactor at normaltemperature. With better treatment efficiency and stable treatment results. (4)After aerobic treatment,the wheat alcohol wastewater effluent COD concentrationof the stable running stage of the UASB reactor was kept about1600mg/L,used thiseffluent as the influent of the SBR reactor. using the selected process parameters: the filltime for30minutes, aeration time for240minutes, mixing time for30minutes and theprecipitation time for120minutes, drainage time for30minutes, idle time for30minutes.the effluent COD concentration was kept below300mg/L.(5)The wheat alcohol wastewater was treated with the UASB-SBR combinedtechnique,and the effluent COD concentration was below300mg/L, which is meets thestandards of the municipal sewers network.
