The human long overload utilize ecosystem, the development of ecological debthas accumulated a significant ecological problems: ecosystem services decline,decline in biodiversity, river pollution and fragmentation, ocean acidification. Is onlyone earth, only change the existing mode of life and production, in order to slow theEarth’s natural capital degradation trends, and to ensure the safety of the ecosystem asthe basis of economic and social development. Shanxi Province relying on energyresources advantage to develop economic, and this at the expense of the ecologicalenvironment at the expense of economic growth, not only to achieve sustainableeconomic development can not be true, but exacerbate by the pressure of the shortageof resources, aggravate environmental capacity load force,pose severe challenges tosustainable economic development and ecological environment sustainable.Based on this, we use the theory of ecological footprint model, while theintroduction of the ecological footprint indicators such as the ecological footprintpressure index, ecological coordination coefficient, ecological and economicdevelopment capacity index, ecological footprint diversity index and ten thousandyuan GDP ecological footprint indicators, as fully as possible objectively reflect thepeople’s demand for activities to bring the impact of the ecological environment. Thearticle first study and analyze the current situation of ecological environment, thesubsequent use of the ecological footprint model to calculate the Shanxi2007-2011per capita ecological footprint and ecological capacity per capita, and dynamicevolution analysis based on ecological footprint and ecological carrying capacity ofdifferent years, evaluation study on the sustainable development of the ecologicalenvironment.The results show that:(1) Shanxi Province2007-2011per capita ecologicalfootprint overall upward trend, people grow to1.4334ha in2007/1.62275ha/person;2007-2011per capita ecological capacity is relatively stable in Shanxi Province,remained at0.82ha/person. Visible ecological footprint per capita growth rate isfaster, resulting in the ecological environment has been in ecological deficit state in2007-2011.(2) in2007-2011, from Shanxi Province, each of ecologically productiveland type trend can be drawn, slight surplus of cultivated land, forest and constructionland per capita ecological footprint, The other two categories of land there are varyingdegrees of ecological deficit, especially fossil energy land ecological deficit highlightsthe most.Finally, some recommendations for to mitigate ecological deficit to achieve thesustainable development of the ecological environment: Market conditions andinstitutional conditions to strengthen mechanisms to promote the construction ofecological civilization;Changing consumption patterns, to promote "low footprint" inmeeting the development needs of the people on the basis of consumption patterns;Increase productivity, and promote resource efficient, reasonable, recycling, andenhance capacity for sustainable development; Protection of natural resources,increase the biological capacity to meet people’s needs, while leaving the natural space; To guide the flow of funds to promote green investment and financing.
