| Objective: The study translated and revised the Chinese version of Work-RelatedQuality of Life(WRQoL), provide a feasible tool for subjective evaluation of nurses’Quality of Work Life(QWL)in domestic research. Used the Chinese version of theWRQoL to conduct the present situation investigation of nurses, then discussed theinfluencing factors of nurses’ QWL, provided the basis for nurses’ QWL intervention. Methods: The Chinese version of the WRQoL was translated from the original one, after back-translated and culture adaptation, it was applied to184nurses to test the scale.Used item analysis and exploratory factor analysis, the Chinese version of the WRQoLwas constructed. Used the Chinese version WRQoL, survey was enforced to500nursesof one city with a stratified convenience sampling method. Statistical methods includeddescriptive analysis, variance analysis and t-test to discuss the situation of nurses’ QWL,and the influencing factors of nurses’ QWL were analyzed by linear regression analysis.Results:1. The Chinese version of the WRQoL contains twenty-three items, six factors.Six factors: Working Conditions(5items), General Well-Being(6items), Job andCareer Satisfaction(5items), Control at Work(2items), Stress at Work(2items)andHome–Work Interface(3items). The internal consistency reliability of the scale was0.891, the half-split reliability was0.846and test-retest reliability was0.730. Items andeach dimensions related were P<0.01of the content validity. The factor analysisconfirmed the construct validity of the scale, six components extracted, total varianceexplained60.559%.2. The average score of the nurses’ QWL was72.85±11.36, at amedium level of overall. Working Conditions:2.97±0.76, General Well-Being:3.14±0.54, Job and Career Satisfaction:3.44±0.55, Control at Work:3.10±0.80, Stressat Work:3.48±0.89, Home–Work Interface:3.00±0.86.3. Demography Characteristicsfor nurses has the significant difference in age, marital status, education, the length ofwork, department, salary, the nature of employment, title, duty and hospital grade.4.The results of linear regression declared that duty, education and department couldinfluence the score of the nurses’ QWL.Conclusions:1. The results for the Chinese version of the WRQoL showed goodreliability and validity of nurses. The scale can be used to be a instrument for measuringQWL of nurses.2. The level of nurses’ QWL was at a medium level of overall.3.Influence factors of the nurses’ QWL contain: duty, education and department. |
