Objective:In this study, based on a former animal model of mice with upper respiratory tractflora disorder induced by penicillin, we established an animal model of mice withimpaired upper respiratory tract mucosa biological barrier function induced bycyclophosphamide and penicillin to explore the effects and anti respiratory infectionmechanisms of Jude-Screen Powder on biological barrier function of upperrespiratory tract in immunocompromised mice.Methods:1. We finished the review by looking up domestic and foreign articles.2. Animal models of mice with impaired upper respiratory tract mucosa biologicalbarrier function were established by intraperitoneal injection with penicillin, cyclophosphamide, or with both drugs,respectively.3. Animal models of mice with impaired upper respiratory tract mucosa biologicalbarrier function were established as described above and simultaneouslyadministrated with Jude-Screen Powder. Effects of Jude-Screen Powder onbiological barrier function of upper respiratory tract in immunocompromised micewere observed by concentration of oropharynx flora, density of dominant bacteria, flora diversity and secretion of SIgA.Results:1. Mice model were successfully established by injection with penicillin andcyclophosphamide. Mice performed significant lower oropharynx flora andstreptococcus viridans densities, reduced flora diversity, and impaired mucosa biological barrier function.2. Flora density rose obviously(P<0.01), growth of streptococcus viridansaccelerated(P<0.05), and amount of SIgA(P<0.01) in saliva elevated in mice, with impaired upper respiratory tract mucosa biological barrier function inducedby penicillin, simultaneously administrated with Jude-Screen Powder.3. Flora density rose obviously(P<0.05), flora diversity increased (P<0.05), andamount of SIgA(P<0.01) in saliva elevated in mice, with impaired upperrespiratory tract mucosa biological barrier function induced by cyclophosphamide, simultaneously administrated with Jude-Screen Powder.4. Flora density rose(P<0.05), growth of streptococcus viridans recovered(P<0.05),flora diversity increased(P<0.05), and amount of SIgA(P<0.05) in saliva elevatedin mice, with impaired upper respiratory tract mucosa biological barrier functioninduced by cyclophosphamide and penicillin, simultaneously administrated withJude-Screen Powder.Conclusions:1. Animal model of mice with impaired upper respiratory tract mucosa biologicalbarrier function could be successfully induced by penicillin and cyclophosphamidebecause of flora disorder.2. Jude-Screen Powder was found to regulate flora density in upper respiratory tract, diversities of streptococcus viridans and other bacteria, and secretion of SIgA in micewith impaired upper respiratory tract mucosa biological barrier function.3. One possible mechanism by which Jude-Screen Powder prevent and curerespiratory tract infection might be balancing flora and promoting secretion of SIgA.
