ObjectiveComparion of risk factors exist the case group and the control group in the living and working environment, To investigate environmental factors related to the induction of embryo damage, and provide evidence for making proper measure on comprehensive prevention.MethodsThe hospital-based case-control study was carried out in the obstetrics and gynecology clinic,a tertiary hospitals in Shandong Province. Cases and controls were selected from the patients were of embryo damage (206) and pregnant women of normal embryonic development(259) respectively, who received treatment from January2009to December2010. To survey the basic conditions, living habits and work environment by self-designed questionnaire, and using SPSS13.0to analyze the data by univariate logistic regression analysis and Multivariate non-conditioned logistic regression analysis.ResultsThe univariate Logistic regression analysis results showed:1. Pre-pregnancy overweight (BMI>24,OR=2.035), pregnancy ages (>30years old, OR=1.247), age of menarche(<11years old,OR=0.642), with the history of embryo damage (OR=3.037) were the risk factors for embryo damage.2. Compared with free profession, occupational stresses (OR=0.604) were the risk factors, especially the medical personnel.3. Excitable type character(OR=0.291), introverted personality (OR=0.122), the women with worse emotional control ability (OR=1.884), more worried about children’s health, labor pain, the economic cost of raising child(OR=0.351), were prone to embryo damage.4. To piddle (OR≈0.65), to drink strong tea (OR=1.549), to drink strong coffee (OR=2.152), were the risk factors for embryo damage. Drunk green tea were prone to embryo damage compared with the women who did not drinking tea,(OR=2.538). The stronger the tea is, the longer the cumulative drinking tea and coffee were prone to embryo damage.5. Living in a house which was decorated less than a year were prone to embryo damage, the longer the worse (OR=0.700)6. Watched television or computer longer before pregnancy (OR=0.825) used cooker or Microwave ovens before or during pregnancy (OR≈0.2), did more strenuous exercise during pregnancy were prone to embryo damage(OR=4.369).7. Supplemented folic acid before pregnancy (OR=0.490), the longer taking contraceptives (OR=1.467), the shorter stopping taking contraceptives (OR=1.384). The women who were ill before pregnancy(chronic disease, periodontal disease, gynec-ological diseases, uterine infections, OR=1.732).8. Better mood before pregnancy and better relationships (marital relationship, relationship with her mother-in-laws, relationships with colleagues) were the protective factors for embryo damage.9. Doing appropriate physical exercise before pregnancy and regularly pregnancy test were the protecitve factors to prevent embyro damage.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that, the main Psychologic al and environmental factors which affect the embryo damage were:1. The women who were ill before pregnancy(chronic disease, periodontal disease, gynecological diseases, uterine infections, using cooker or Microwave ovens before pregnancy (OR≈0.018), doing more strenuous exercise during pregnancy were prone to embryo damage(OR=34.969).2. Better relationships (marital relationship, relationship with her mother in-laws, relationships with colleagues) and regularly pregnancy test were the protecitve factors to prevent embyro damage.Conclusions1The risk factors for embryo damage were:1.1Pre-pregnancy overweight (BMI≥24), pregnancy ages (>30years old), age of menarche(<11years old), with the history of embryo damage were the risk factors for embryo damage.1.2Excitable type character, introverted personality, the women with worse em-otional control ability, more worried about children’s health, labor pain, the economic cost of raising child, were prone to embryo damage.1.3To piddle, to drink strong tea, to drink strong coffee, were the risk factors for embryo damage. Drunk green tea were prone to embryo damage compared with the women who did not drinking tea,. The stronger the tea is, the longer the cumulative drinking tea and coffee were prone to embryo damage.1.4Living in a house which was decorated less than a year were prone to embryo damage, the longer the worse.1.5Watched television or computer longer before pregnancy, used cooker or Microwave ovens before or during pregnancy, did more strenuous exercise during pregnancy were prone to embryo damage.1.6Supplemented folic acid before pregnancy, the longer taking contraceptives), the shorter stopping taking contraceptives. The women who were ill before pregnancy(chronic disease, periodontal disease, gynecological diseases, uterine infections).2The protecitve factors for embryo damage were:Better mood before pregnancy and better relationships (marital relationship, relationship with her mother-in-laws, relationships with colleagues),Doing appropriate physical exercise before pregnancy and regularly pregnancy test were the protecitve factors to prevent embyrodma.
