Dynamic Observation Of Parathyroid Function After Total Resection Of The Thyroid Gland And The Ginkgo Biloba Extract’s Effection To Renew Parathyroid Function

Objective: Discuss the dynamic change trend of blood calcium ions and parathyroidhormone after total resection of the thyroid gland.Prob-e the therapeutic action ofginkgo biloba extract to the low parathyroid function and the precaution and treatmentto hypocalcemia after total resection of the thyroid gland.Methods: Collect the patients who have a total resection of thyroid in our hospitalfrom May2012to December2012.There are71patients,th-e male12cases,female63cases, male to female ratio is12:63.The ages from24years old to64years old.The average age is44years old. Postoperative pathology demonstrates that there arenodular goiter7cases, papillary thyroid carcinoma68cases.There are7cases for totalthyroidectomy and68cases for total thyroidectomy combine with the resection ofcentral compartment lymph node.Just undergo total thyroidectomy without theresection of central compartment lymph node sets group A.Undergo thyroid cancerradical operation randomly divided into group B and experimental group. Results: In the75cases of total resection of thyroid,there are46cases turn uptemporary low parathyroid function after the surgery,with incidence rate of61.33%.All parathyroid function recover normal after fllow-up one to four months. There isno case turns up permanent low parathyroid function.There is a statisticallysignificant between group A and group B.We can conclude that there is a differencebetween these two kinds of operation methods. Thyroid cancer radical operationhas a bigger effection to Parathyroid function than total resection of the thyroid.There is no statistically significant between group A and experimental group. We cannot conclude that ginkgo biloba extract has a therapeutic action to the lowparathyroid function.Because all of group A’s Parathyroid function recover normalafter fllow-up one month,so we can not undergo statistical analysis. There is nostatistically significant between group B and experimental group for blood calciumions when they leave hospital. We can not conclude that ginkgo biloba extract has atherapeutic action to the hypocalcemia.There is a statistically significant betweengroup B and experimental group after follow-up one month,so we can conlude thatginkgo biloba extract has a potentialtherapeutic action to the hypocalcemia.Conclusion：(1).The low parathyroid function and hypocalcemia recover normal in one to fourmonths after total thyroidectomy or thyroid cancer radical operation,it guarantees thesecurity of total thyroidectomy or thyroid cancer radical operation (2).It is necessary to supply calcium through the vein after total resection of thethyroid, If necessary we can combine with Oral calcium supplements and Vitamin Dpreparation. It can decrease the appearce of abnormal symptoms after the operation.(3).Routinely use expand blood vessel drugs after the surgery,such as ginkgo bilobaextract which can improve the low blood calcium symptoms.
