| [Objective] :Detection of parathyroid hormone(PTH)level after total thyroidectomy, analysis of changes in serum calcium, and the relationship between serum calcium and parathyroid hormone after total thyroidectomy.[Methods]:A total of 60 patients(including 40 cases of thyroid cancer and 20 cases of bilateral thyroid nodules)who underwent total thyroidectomy from November 2017 to January 2019 in the department of breast and thyroid surgery, second department of oncology, affiliated cancer hospital of Qinghai university were collected.According to preoperative and postoperative 1 h,1 d and 2 d four time points measured blood calcium value object of study can be divided into low blood calcium group and normal blood calcium, monitoring of both groups, respectively, preoperative and postoperative 1 h,1 d and 2 d four time points to take venous blood, collecting blood samples sent to the clinical laboratory, clinical laboratory technical determination by using the blood samples of serum parathyroid hormone(PTH)value and blood calcium, collecting blood sample data, using SPSS 22.0 statistical software for data processing and analysis of preoperative and postoperative the PTH values of the four time points and the change of blood calcium values, and the correlation between values of blood calcium and PTH values,P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.[Results]:The differences of PTH and serum calcium in preoperative, postoperative 1h,postoperative 1d and postoperative 2d were statistically significant(P<0.05).PTH and serum calcium values at 1h,1d and 2d after surgery were all lower than those before surgery(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in PTH between preoperative hypocalcemia group and normal serum calcium group(P>0.05).PTH of the hypocalcemia group and the normal serum calcium group were significantly different at 1h,1d and 2d after surgery(P<0.05).The statistical analysis of the two groups showed that PTH was positively correlated with serum calcium, and the correlation coefficient was 0.381.[Conclusion]: After total thyroidectomy, the levels of parathyroid hormone(PTH)and serum calcium were lower than those before the operation, the first day after the operation was the lowest, and the second day after the operation was increased, but the levels were still lower than those before the operation.Postoperative parathyroid hormone(PTH)level has a certain correlation with the level of blood calcium.Postoperative blood calcium value changes with the level of parathyroid hormone(PTH).Postoperative PTH decreases,so does the level of blood calcium. After thyroidectomy, postoperative PTH level can be used to predict the occurrence of postoperative hypocalcemia. |
