The questionaire this study used was developed byChinese Health Education Center in2008. The SPSS17.0were used to sort out andanalyze data. The methods of t-test, F-test,, Logistic regression analysis were used inthis research.During October to September in2010, a survey and conversazione was made inhealth institutions and their staff in the5counties and7districts in Suzhou.312personswere chosen. After rejected8invalid questionnaire,304effective questionaire, and thevalid response rate is97.44%. After inputting the data into Epidata3.1, SPSS17.0wasused to analyze data. The methods of mean, standard deviation, t test, analysis ofvariance were used to analyse the score of health promotion ability and the score of alldimensions.Results:1.This survey totally refers to6429people, including3175men and3254women.The males and females account for49.39%and50.61%respectively, and the ration is0.98:1. The average score of health literacy, attitude literacy, knowledge literacy, behavior literacy and skill literacy are respectively93.94,20.06,49.53,15.89,8.46.Through the analysis of Polytomous Logistic regression, it can be found that, age, family’s average monthly income and education level are main factors which mayinfluence residents’ overall health literacy. The older group’s grade of overall healthliteracy is higher than the younger one’s. The more the family’s average monthlyincome increase, the more the literacy grade improve. The highly-educated group’sgrade is better than the lower one’s.2.This survey showed that, on the whole of Suzhou’s health agency, total score ofpersonal ability, organizational capacity and environment competence is3.14.Comparative analysis of variance shows that, there is no statistical difference in thepersonal, organizing, environmental ability of different-level health agency. The totalscore of community health promotion ability of subdistricts and neighborhood healthcenters are2.48and2.19. Variance analysis reveals that, in respect of health questionconfirmation, resource acquisition, organization connection and community attachment, rating differences of subdistricts and neighborhood health centers have statisticalsignificance(P<0.05). What’more, subdistricts get more score in every respect thanneighborhood health centers. By the variance analysis, it shows that, on regionaldistribution, the total score has statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:1. The health literacy among the different residents in Suzhou was the differentlevels.2. The main factors that influenced the health literacy of residents in Suzhou wereeducational level, age and mean monthly income.3.
