Euphorbia Sororia A and its fruit are usually used as a herbal substitute of Daphneodora by Uyghur named as “Suzap”. It belongs to Euphorbia cyparissias, atherophyte and grows in mid-east and Hotan in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous region. As a traditional herbal medicine in Uyghur pharmacological research due to itsmedical value, it helps to drain water, to ease tension, to clear mind, and to drive awayworms. Clinically, it has been used to treat constipation, urinary frequency, headachecaused by hypertension, liver cirrhosis, edema, and scabies inflammation. Wedistillated Euphorbia Sororia A, purified it and studied its anti-oxidation in vitro toprovide evidence for its clinical usage.1.We used ultrasonic instillation method to compare the concentration of totalflavonoids from Euphoro sorisis in different conditions induced by EtOH,temperature, liquid ratio, instillation time. Our result showed an optimal concentrationof3.5%flavonoids was obtained in50%EtOH for30min at30℃with a liquidratio being1:25g/mL.2. The adhesion and dissolvent of flavonoids was compared using macroporousresin such as X-5, NKA-9, D-3520, and AB-8. AB-8was proven the best resin forflavonoids. The loading buffer concentration, flow rate, amount of dissolvent of AB-8resin was tested and the optimal condition for adhesion of84.5%pure flavonoids wasin a loading buffer of0.048mg/mL at the speed of2mL/mim using70mL50%EtOH.AB-8could be used to distillate and purify Euphorbia sororia A.3.10chemical compounds were obtained using the usual distillation method andcolumn chromatography from Euphorbia sororia A. The chemical components weredetermined as1. Kaempferol-3-O-β-D glucuronide;2. Kaempferol3-O-β-D-Glucopyranoside;3. Kaempferol3-O-α-L-arabinoside;4. Kaempferol3-O-β-D-xylpyranoside;5. Quercetin-3-O-β-D-glucoside;6. Isoscopoletin;7. β-Amyrin 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside;8. Octacosanol;9. Hexaco sanoic acid;10. β-sitoterol.4. The anti-oxidation of flavonoids purified from Euphorbia sororia A wascompared against VC in vitro using hydroxyl radical clearance、DPPH clearance andreduction oxidation. Using hydroxyle radical clearance method, we found theflavonoids had better anti-oxidation than VC, the same was found using DPPHmethod, however, flavonoids was less in antioxidation than VC using reductionoxidation method. We concluded that flavonoids from Euphorbia sororia A can beused as an antioxidant.
