The teaching mode of’listening after comprehension’is based on the schema theory. It aims to match the’pattern-meaning’mode which is already formed in the mind of students and Chinese pronunciation in order to establish the reaction and formulary of Chinese for students. The students’activities in class are comprehension-listening-internalization-formation. Based on this’listening after comprehension’, this study made a tentative empirical study on the students from Thammasat University who came to the College of International Education&Exchange of Chongqing University for exchange last summer. Through the questionnaire and test, the result shows that:(1)75%of the students were satisfied or very satisfied with this teaching mode;(2) the test results showed the students’achievements with this model: the average score is from72before this study,83.15in the medium term to the final score95.9. This means that this mode would be greatly useful for increasing their ability of Chinese speaking and listening, to which80%of the students agreed. This study brings forward some proposals of improvement and perfection for the mode in order to provide some salutary references for the widely acceptance of this teaching mode in the future.
