The Characteristic And Teaching Of Distinguishing Words To Foreigners In Chinese

Distinguishing words, known as non-predicate adjective, is a controversial group of words in modern Chinese. It is very active in the application of Chinese, but we can not define it explicitly because of it’s special grammar characters, thus, bringing us great difficulty in teaching Chinese to foreigners. Even though the foreign students with a middle or high level of Chinese, it’s also very difficult for them to command the distinguishing words completely, leading to many misunderstandings and even influencing the normal communication. In this paper, we analyzed the various types and characters of the distinguishing words, discriminated the characters of the distinguishing words from nouns and adjective words, and discussed the teaching methods for foreign students according to the author’s experience of teaching practices, hoping to overcome the difficulties during the distinguishing words’teaching and enhance its teaching level.
