In both mandarin and dialects,"zhe" is frequently used. And there have beennumerous literature works and literature on this subject. The usage and function of“zhe” in Linyi dialect more or less has its unique features, but has not yet been widelyconcerned enough. Therefore analysis and in-depth research on this topic is needed,which is the aim of this paper.Firstly, based on the introduction of Linyi’s geography, population and historicalreforms, the paper describes the different pronunciation and basic meaning of “zhe” asa noun, a verb, and a particle in Linyi dialect. Then, the paper analyzes the sentenceselection and syntactic features of “zhe” when is used together with other verbs,nouns and adjectives in Linyi dialect. And the co-occurrence situation of “zhe” and“le” is briefly discussed. In addition, this paper compares the usage and features of“zhe” in some dialects of Mandarin area and non-Mandarin area.Through the analysis on the sound and meaning from multi-angle and full range,finally I summed up the four distinctive differences in uses of “zhe” in Linyi dialectfrom that in mandarin, as follows:Ⅰ>used in the end of the sentence or sub-sentence, expressing antecedent orconditional relationship;Ⅱ>used after time torn or quantifier marking time and age, indicating a futuretime or time period, which is equivalent to “when...”;Ⅲ>used in the end of the sentence or sub-sentence, indicating the hypothesizedrelationship, which is equivalent to “If...”;Ⅳ>used in the end of the sentence or sub-sentence, strengthening or relievingthe tone of the sentence.
